Dear editor:

I'm writing this letter because I have some complainings
about what did you publicate on your newspapper.
First of all you missed a lot of important things that
happened over there on the manifestation that we did.

We were not just claiming for the extinction of a rare
species of snails also we were protesting for the
destruction of the woodland which is more important than the
poor snails.

Also we weren't just 200 people manifestating
our disagreement for doing this crime against nature,
we were 2.000 people much more than 200 dont you think that?

The thing that you published that really piss me off was the
fact that we weren't sat in the road and we didn't chanted any slogans
to block the access to the site we did a very
peacefull demonstration of our disagreement with
the destruction of the woodland and the extinction of the
snails.

And finally I don't know who was
the person who said that we are just all unemployed youngster
from other parts of the country there were a lot of local residents
who wanted to fight with us for the correct thing
that we re defending.

So please send a reporter from your newspapper to my home
so could have the real information of all of this
and what happened for real.

A short story for the competition

One day in the city a lot of rock bands were reunited to play some music at the most popular Rock Festival in this city, they were like 10 or 15 bands and all of them were very good and very famous in the underground movement.
Everything was cool but something suddenly happened, the drummer of one the bands was injured and he will not be able to play with his band because he get injured very bad
from his right ankle.
So I was in the main entrance to see the festival because I wanted to see my friends playing and rocking in the main stage, one of them call me and he told me what happened. So I ran to the backstage to see what was happening and I saw them very sad because they wouldn't be able to play in front of the stage because of the drummer's injury so I said:"Guys, if you want I can play for him you know that I'm a huge fan10 of you and I know all the songs and you know that I play drums so if you want I could play the songs with you I don't have any problem with it".
They were looking at the drummer and me, they were very worried because they knew that I'm not a big drummer like my other friend but they had no choice.

Solemne Writing #1

First of all I want to say thanks for the price, I want to travel on January because I’m on vacations on that date and also is my birthday month so that would be the perfect gift for me for my birthday.

I would prefer to be accommodated in tents, is better for me because I love to see the stars at night have fun with the other guys of the camp around the fire telling terror stories and all that funny stuff, so that’s why I prefer to be accommodated in tents, I hope you can give me a tent just for me I want to have my own privacy over there.

I was looking for the activities that you have on the camp and I’m very interested in Photography and tennis. I’m very good taking pictures of the nature and things like that and I want to learn how to improve my service in tennis I know how to play it but I’m not good at all on this sports so this could be the chance to improve my skills on it.

I just have one question, How much time I will be there? Because on febraury I always go on vacations with my friends and I don’t want to lose that kind of tradition I will be very sad if I don’t go with them this year.

The best way to travel in Santiago

First of all you have to buy a little turistic guide or a guidebook at the airport or where you are staying probably in a hotel or something like that.

If you don't want to buy that kind of stuff just go into the internet and try to check on map city how to go to some places in Santiago like the most important plaeces like:
Cerro Santa Lucia, Parque Bustamante, Plaza Italia, La Moneda, Cerro San Cristobal, the museums of Quinta Normal, probably those are the most imporant places here in Santiago.

If you want to know all those places the best way to go to those places is to use the METRO or Transantiago, probably transantiago is a little bit complicated but is a great system of transport here in Santiago by now just try to use the Metro.
Metro is very easy to use just go into the station and ask to somebody wearing a red uniform how to go to a place and he will tell you with no problems.
Actually Metro is a very confortable and safety way o travel around Santiago, it goes from coast to coast to any place of this city you just have to now where you have to go down on a station and that's it, I hope you don't get lost.

Miriam’s disastrous trip

a. What are some things that Miriam definitely should have done before she left on her trip?

Do her luggage as the first thing before she had the going-away party so she could put all the things that she would need for her trip like the carry on bag.

Get information about where she would go because she didn't know where she was exactly, probably she must have to read her guidebook or jus carry it with her so she probably could rode the guidebook in the plane.

She didn't have a reservation for an hotel so she went to a very expensive hotel . Probably she spend a lot of money over here just to sleep a night so she completely forgot about to do a reservation in a less expensive hotel over there.

Also she forgot to have Breakfast before she took the plane and for me having breakfast is one of the most important things to do in the day, because if you don't have breakfast you are nor focussed on what are you doing.

b. What are some other things that Miriam could have done to make her trip more enjoyable?

Probably not to going alone on her trip maybe if she did the trip with a friend everything would be easier because to have a solution for all her problems, ALWAYS two heads thinks better than one head.

c. What should she do now?

If I were her, I would take the bus trip I know it would take more hours for her to go where she wanted to go but common enjoy the view of the trip meet new people on the bus try to make some new friends so they could help you with you objetive...... Meet the orangutans.

Strange Picture

I think than this situation could happened in a office,probably that was like a wrestling tournament and the chinesse guy is doing a frog splash to his partner to make a little funnier the work atmosphere and also win the tournament.

Assignment #2 ADVANTAGES / DISADVANTAGES

mmmm so what are the advantages and disadvantages of living on the city or the country..... Let's see.

ADVANTAGES - LIVING IN THE CITY

- You have everything what you need, for example technologies, prepared food, etc.
- Subway or Metro
- More parts where you can go to have fun like discos, pubs, etc.
- A lot of supermarkets.
- Work opportunities.
- More Education, I mean in the city are more Universities, schools, colleges and institutes.
Those are the principal ones but let's see the disadvantages:

DISADVANTAGES - LIVING IN THE CITY

- Smog, Pollution.
- Crimes, Delinquency.
- A bad transport system (here in Santiago at least)

And those are the most clearful disadvantages of living on the city.

By other hand we have the advantages and disadvantages of living on the country but I'm not going to reffer to that because is very clear is just the inverse of the things I wrote on the top for example you don't have subway or metro in the country and are very obvius.

However you can breath very clean air or oxigen in the country, that makes you feel very good and also confortable just like in your city but without the smoke of the air, so probably this could be the very best advantage of living in the country, also the most of the people who lives in the country are thin because they walk a lot to go to their jobs or the school and is very confortable do exercises over there because you don't feel tired at the moment as if you do exercises here in Santiago for example.

My Guilty Pleasure.......

When I was a child I loved to go to the country with my mother and my uncle because I was a very active child, with my cousin we were playing on the hills for hours!!, it was so good!!, then my grandmother gave me a christmas gift...... and that was a SUPER NINTENDO!!!, first I didn't get a lot of fun with it, but then I started to play more games and buy more games so I became Nintendoholic. So vacations arrived and I went to the country again but it was not the same, I just wanted to play Nintendo also with my cousin in his house but there were not electricity so we couldn't play Nintendo and believe me I NEEDED TO PLAY!!! I get bored because I couldn't play, also I couldn't live without electricity so I didn't enjoy the landscape, the animals and nothing, I had a serious problem because I just wanted to play I was annoying with my family over there so they decided to send me back to Santiago in a few days and I was very happy with my Nintendo again.

Now is basically the same I cannot live without a computer or without technologies so I definitely preffer to live in the city with all the technologies around me with my cellphone, Nintendo ds, Playstation, Computer OH GOD WHY I AM LIKE THAT AND NOT THE CHILD AS I WAS SOMEDAY, I always say that to me but, definitely TECHONOLOGIES are my GUILTY PLEASURE.

Complaining Letter

Dear Sir or Madam

I'm writing this e-mail to express my dissactisfaction with
your service I received from your company and service
since I purchase the tickets to do the trip to Boulogne and
nearby hypermarket.

Firstly, according to your advertising spot on your website,
I asked for a trip to Boulogne but it was an awful new experience.
The bus didn't departs on time we were waiting until the bus arrive,
in your spot says "travel in comfort on our AIR-CONDITIONED coach"
that's not true, the bus was very hot because the air conditioned was not working,
so I asked for an ice tea but what I get was more likely a hot tea
there weren't an ice on it.

We spend a lot of time on the "Eco" supermarket, because it was crowded
and has long queues at checkouts, also we just had been one hour on
Boulogne and the restaurants were all closed I don't know if this is bad luck
or your trip is just a lie.

As you can imagine, I am very disappointed with the service offered
by your company and I ask for a total refund of £20 this include
the price of the trip and the hot drink that I bought were I was on the bus.

Come on!! DON'T BE SHY!!!

That's what my friends always said to me
COME ON PANXO DON'T BE SHY and show us your talent singing.................
That was 6 years ago when I was at the school and we started with our musical proyect called

"DIVINITY FROM HELL" now the name of the band is LARTNECK we were a little bit satanics with the other name so we decided to change it for LARTECK.

Everything started for the students day at our school and we wanted to play some METALLICA songs in front of the school so we started the proyect doing covers of Iron Maiden, Megadeth and Metallica songs.

A few friends came along with us to hear our music during our sound tests and that kind of stuff.
But there were a problem we doesn't had a singer...... Suddenly one friend of us came out and tried to save us, as a singer, but he really sangs very bad so we decided not to sing in our presentation, just instrumental music, but WECOULDN'T DO THAT!! we were doing covers from our favourite ROCK BANDS and we MUST sang that songs.

I was playing the drums and I started to sing the songs I didn't sang in tune but I tried to give the best of me.

My friends said, come on Panxo sing the songs!!DON'T BE SHY NOW!!! and that's the story how I started to sang with my band, just for that time because now we have a real singer.

Shopaholics???

First time that I rode this word I though........ This is crazy is like alcoholic but with shops??? What in the world!!
What's happening with the people they don't know than in the world are many kids that doesn't have anything to eat also wear, why the "shopaholics" don't took a little bit of concience about this and spend the unnecessary money and time helping this poor little kids I don't know here in my country or if they don't like our country send the money to some fundation and they can do somehing.

In my opinion, I think than that is the solution to their problems of spending excesive money.

By the way I hate go shopping!!

when I go with my girlfriend to buy some clothes for me or her I just look a little bit and I take the first thing that I liked and I also help my girlfriend to do the same because I really hate to be in a mall or a thing like that.

So I will never be a Shopaholic, for two reasons:

I HATE GO SHOPPING!! and I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO SPEND ON UNNECESSARY STUFFS OR GADGETS!!!!

Description....

Last year while I was on the United States working for the Disney company I were working on my first day I still remember that.

After I finish my special training to work in food & beverage in a restaurant in Magic Kingdom, I started to have some problems with the soda machine, and nobody tried to help me, suddenly from out of nowhere a beautiful French girl appeared her name was Emilie I saw that on her nametag, Oh my god! I felt very nervous because her face was beautiful, her eyes, her nose, EVERYTHING!!, she was wearing the costume that we must use to work over there but I never saw her in my training so she was new for me. She looks so nice, and she said to me...

DO YOU NEED HELP??

My answer was YES, PLEASE!!

so we started to talk a lot she tolds me that she wanted to learn Spanish and if I could help her with that obviusly I said yes, no problem.

So we started a very good friendship she went to my appartment everyday when we finish to work or I went to her appartmen to have dinner it was beautiful.

My feelings on her changed suddenly, I fell in love. I told her and she said to me I'm in love too,

it was wonderful, but we know than our relationship will not be for a long time because her program will finish in about 3 months and my program was just starting so we started to have a relationship it was beautiful and all to the magic of DISNEY.

A REAL STORY

One day, after I finish the classes in the university, I decided to took a bus to my home, suddenly three guys cmae where I was in the bus........... at the end of this one....
They started to drink beers inside of the bus and also smoking it was very disgusting because they were talking very loud and not good words just bad words to all the people who were in the bus.
Suddenly they tried to stole my hat that I bought on MIAMI INK on the USA, is my favourite hat and also was very expensive so I wouldn't let them took out of my head, one of the guys started to say "OH what a beautiful hat it will look good on my head" I just didn't do anything, then one of the guys slap my neck and says "hey why don't you give me your hat?" what I did it was amazing, I said WHY DON'T YOU GET A JOB AND BUY ONE OF THIS!!!, he tried to hit me with a punch, I get very mad and I hit him with a kick the other guys tried to catch me because when I hit the guy I ran to the front of the bus so when I was doing that some guys saw that and they help me to "fight" with them the bus driver stops the bus and he call the police they came at the very moment but they couldn't arrest the guys who tried to took my favourite hat.
Nobody was injure, except the guy who received my punch, so is like a happy ending because I still have my hat and I still have it.

MOVIE REVIEW: X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE

The film begins in 1840s Canada, when a young James Logan (Wolverine) and his half-brother Victor Creed (Sabretooth) discover that their future paths are inextricably connected. They end up in Nigeria in pursuit of a mysterious rock-like material for which they’re meant to be willing to destroy anyone, innocent or guilty, who gets in their way. Wolverine refuses and retires to the Canadian Rockies where he lives in bliss with his girlfriend Kayla. Inevitably, along comes Sabretooth spoiling for blood.

At the end of the movie it has an inesperated ending sabretooth, the brother of wolverine, save the life of his brother with the argument than he is the only one who can kill him.

The movie ends and it's linked with the other X-men movie is just like the star wars saga, as the tittle of the movie says X-MEN ORIGINS talk about the origins of the saga.

I liked a lot this movie it has action, drama and sometimes comedy so I recommend this movie to everyone if you don't know the X-MEN don't worry just look at this one as an action movie.

Technology ^^

Technologies are our best friends today, I think so.....
I'm in love with technologies I have a lot of gadgets starting with my cellphone it is a PALM is like a mini-computer so I can have all my documents with me in my pocket is not too big so is not a problem to carry my palm with me to everywhere I go. Also I have music on it so I save money to buy an MP3 or an MP4 because I can watch videos on it.
It have a lot of advantages I also have a dictionary with me the OXFORD DICTIONARY one of the best, I think, in my cellphone computer.
On the negative side the palm is a very complex system to use because you have to actualize it a lot of times to change the operational system or things like that is complicated for a person who don't know a lot of computers or pocket pc. Finally the palm have a very good browser and a system that you could go on the web to check your email and all that stuff, it also have a qwerty keyboard so you can write messages faster than another cellphone.
In conclusion, my cellphone have a lot of advantages but also a lot of disadvantages because is just for some part of the population, somebody who wants a PALM has to have a lot of information and know a little bit of English because all the aplications for the palm are in English, this includes WORD, EXCEL and POWER POINT.

Thank you for your interesting letter. My new house is so beautiful I love it I think I'm settling very good here. Don't worry if you don't have time to answer my letters I know than you are really busy helping your parents with the farm so keep going.

I can't believe than you are waking up early every day!. Since I know you I know than you are very lazy and you like to party a lot so probably you are not partying anymore that's bad because we must party one day when I will go over there to see you.

This is my favourite song NOW in this moment I have a lot of favourite songs but NOW this is my favourite one. I love the lyrics and also the drums and the riffs of the guitars this song is just AMAZING!!!!I have liked this rock band from a lot of time ago and I like more songs of them like Moneky Wrench, Breakout, The one and much more. When I listen to this song I feel like I were in a cloud flying I don't know why that happens but I have that song in my celphone , mp4 and also my nintendo DS so I can hear EVERLONG everywhere, everytime.

I’m studying English Teaching at UCINF and you probably know me.
